Flowers, 2005
I realized recently that although I like the flower photos I have taken in the past, I have never deliberately set out to photograph flowers as such; they were always just grab shots taken while I was doing other things. I set out to remedy that, and this collection is the result. Most of these were taken at the gardens of Filoli, a wonderful old estate that is open to the public, on a perfect semi-overcast day with blowing mist that put raindrops onto the flowers (and onto my camera lens, but never mind). Most of the remainder are shots of the flowers in front of my wife's restaurant, Restaurante Iberia. Two shots were taken just outside my apartment door.
